Tourist tax on Elba 2026: who pays and how

The tourist tax (imposta di soggiorno) is a local levy paid by tourists for each night stayed. The responsible party for collection and remittance is the property manager or owner, not the guest. 2026 rates by municipality:
  • Portoferraio: €1.50–€3.00/night/person
  • Campo nell'Elba: €1.00–€2.50
  • Capoliveri: €1.50–€2.50
  • Porto Azzurro: €1.00–€2.00
  • Marciana: €1.00–€1.50
  • Marciana Marina: €1.00–€2.00
  • Rio: €1.00–€1.50
